A while ago, I shared a great find – the ornate vintage chandelier I was planning to refinish and use in our dining room. Details can be found in this post https://hartsd.wordpress.com/2013/07/08/charming-chandelier/.
The piece got refinished almost a month ago, but due to my fear of getting electrocuted, we could not install it ourselves and had to wait for a professional electrician to come out and do it. I am happy to say that the charming chandelier is finally in its proper place, hanging from our dining room ceiling.
I refinished the ornate metal parts with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Old Typewriter leaving some of the old paint to peek under the new finish on purpose. This gives the ornate detailing more depth and interest.
Now, the chandelier goes perfectly with the French stenciled arched wall on one side
and the country window style mirror on the other.
